What is homeopathy? Homeopathy is a natural system of medicine that uses highly diluted doses of substances to stimulate your body's own defense and healing mechanism.  The word homeopathy comes from the ancient Greek HOMEO, which means ‘similar',  and PATHOS, which mean suffering, thus ‘similar suffering' or ‘likes cure likes'.   Is homeopathy something "new"? Homeopathy has been around for 200 years.  It was developed by a German doctor, Samuel Hahnemann. How does homeopathy work? One example of this is coffee.  What do you feel like when you drink too much coffee?  Wide awake?  The homeopathic remedy, coffea is helpful in many cases of sleeplessness or insomnia. What do you feel like when you chop an onion?  Do your eyes burn and water?  Is your nose running?  Many hay fever sufferers have found relief from their burning, watery eyes from taking the homeopathic remedy, Allium Cepa (the red onion).  Thus ‘likes cures likes": the substance that can cause symptoms, as a remedy, can also cure or heal them.                                                                                                                                  Why should I use homeopathy with children?                           1.
